Everyone loves stories, and the more you write, the better you will get at telling them! Creative writing is a big part of the English paper in school entrance exams, but it is also a really important skill to develop.
Every month we will be setting a new creative writing challenge for Y5 & Y6 students, and we will share our own version in our newsletter at the end of the month, with lots of writing tips.
We suggest not setting a time limit for this challenge, so it doesn't feel stressful.
It's a great idea to get the whole family involved with storytelling, as this keeps it fun and shows that stories are for everyone.
Read them aloud to each other and you'll be amazed at the variety of different stories that can emerge from a single picture!

The Challenge:
This month, we have a picture prompt!
Where are you?
Who might live here?
How do you feel?
Can you hear anything?
If you need some tips, you can find lots of help in the creative writing section of the blog.
Leave a comment to let us know how you got on - and make sure you subscribe to our newsletter so you don't miss out on writing tips, 11+ guidance and more.
