CREATIVE LITERATURE WORKSHOPS
One-day workshops focussing on 11+ exam sample texts for students in Years 5 & 6
We’re on a mission to change how 11+ English is taught! Our innovative approach allows students to connect with classic texts as contemporaries would have done. Our one-day workshops cover both comprehension and creative writing, focussing on building the skills required for success in the 11+ exams.
Students will immerse themselves in the world of the story, with a different theme for each workshop, and will learn how to approach any classic text with confidence. Our aim is that the process will also help them discover a joy in reading classic books that will last a lifetime.

All workshops are £125 per day, per person.
Maximum 10 students per workshop.
Lunch, snacks and drinks all included.
COMPREHENSION
We spend the morning understanding the complexities of the text and language through discussion. We explore question types and how to approach them, using a variety of sample 11+ papers.
Students are immersed in the world of the story through language, music and snacks of the era, and using drama techniques to allow students to retell the story in their own voices to bring it to life.
CREATION
Using the work from the morning session, the afternoon session will focus on creative writing.
Using the vocabulary and literary devices gleaned from the original text, students will create their own work based on real 11+ exam prompts.
This session will be collaborative and fun, with lots of snacks to keep everyone energized!
